Our public meetings are held approximately quarterly to focus on issues of interest to the Association.

Our mission is to develop a sound scientific understanding of water quality, flow, aquatic life, and habitat conditions in the Big Dry Creek Watershed for the purposes of: (1) environmentally responsible decision-making with regard to land and stream uses and (2) identifying measures to improve and protect stream conditions. The goals of the Watershed Association include three broad categories: (1) public education and involvement, (2) monitoring and study, and (3) protecting, preserving and restoring water quality, aquatic life, and habitat. See our Mission and Goals statement for more information.

Our monitoring program focuses on the main stem of Big Dry Creek and includes water chemistry, flow, habitat, fish, and benthic macroinvertebrate sampling. The water quality monitoring program is an ambient-based, voluntary program that includes grab samples collected at seven instream locations. (Municipal wastewater discharges are also monitored by municipal permittees in accordance with their Colorado Discharge Permit System permits.) Monitoring program results are shared in annual reports and in response to data calls from the Colorado Water Quality Control Division. Contact us to request data.

As a 501(c)(3), our meetings are open to public participation and are held approximately quarterly.  Our activities are documented in annual newsletters and meeting minutes, with recent versions posted on this website, along with special presentations. Older versions can be requested from archives.
