The project includes compilation of existing data, necessary field work and development and evaluation of reasonable alternatives to select feasible drainage and flood control outfall system plans for the study area. As part of this process, factors such as cost, existing and proposed land use, existing and proposed drainage or flooding problems, known or anticipated erosion problems, stormwater quality, right-of-way needs, existing wetlands and riparian zones, open space and wildlife benefits and legal issues will be considered. Conceptual alternative outfall system plans will be developed using the criteria and policies of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District and applicable state and federal regulations.
The project will be completed in a sequential manner. The first phase will include all studies and data gathering needed to prepare an alternatives evaluation report. A preferred alternative will then be selected by the project sponsors. The second phase of the project will include a preliminary design for the selected alternative that will culminate in a preliminary design report. The project timeline, deliverables and public meeting schedule is provided below. |
